I am considering working for Starbucks and would like to know which position makes more money at the end of the day. I would guess that the raw wage is greater for the supervisor, but then there is the question of who gets tipped out for the day. Do supervisors in NY get a portion of the tips as well? Also, anyone who has worked both positions, which have you enjoyed more?

Yes, supervisors get tips as well. Only assistant managers and store managers are excluded from the tips.
There are two things to consider, though. Yes, supervisors do make more money that baristas, but only about a dollar more per hour. However, there is only one supervisor working at a time, and there can be 2, 3, 4, even 5 baristas working at a time. Your odds for getting the greatest amount of hours are as a barista. So, even if you’re making a dollar more per hour, if you’re working 20 less hours than you would as a barista, it’s not worth it.

There is no way you can compare teaching to other jobs. We cannot control who we teach. We take the flood light and the night lights and make them shine to the best of their potential. In my 20 years of teaching I have seen far more effective teachers than poor teachers. Teachers go into education to make a difference, to change lives and to make parents and students realize they can reach their goals! We’re not even going to with the days off teachers have, the stress alone should earn it
First off this story is bogus and way too many mistakes in it,lol. I rode a Motorcycle for 15 years and no way could a woman take a helmet off his head going that fast as the wind would rip it from her grasp….Also, there are two sets of brakes (not breaks) on every motorcycle. Front brake is on right side of handle bars and rear brake is down by the right foot… In the time it took for all that conversation to take place the man could have even down shifted enough to slow down.

Oh, absolutely 'difficult to learn the Haven't you heard of the University of Starbucks? After four years you just might learn the lingo, though hold your breath. And the "baristas" make the same as any other fast food worker- minimum wage. My God, hardly rocket science. Try setting that bar just a little bit higher.
