Question by foxy: Is it safe to drink Starbucks cafe latte during pregnancy?
I am currently in my second trimester. All first trimester I avoided caffeine completely but now, when I am in my second one, I allow myself a cup of Starbucks latte now and then.

Does anyone know if that is safe or should I stop?

You can safely consume up to 200-300mg of caffeine a day, which I believe equates to a small cup of coffee.

I believe some caffeine is fine. I only had a small amount my entire pregnancy but i will tell you this That I wasnt warned of…

One weekend we bought a gallon of Sweet Tea ( cause i hadnt had any and i love it).

The Appointment I had 4 days later at 30 weeks pregnant, My OB checked the Fetal Heart Beat and We both Heard 1,2,3 skip….1,2,3, skip…. So he brought in the ultrasound machine and we watched the heart Together. There was clearly a missing heartbeat. A whole beat that skipped.

I had to be sent to the City, 4 hours away, To have it checked over by a specialist. It was Diagnosed as Cardiac Arrhythmia.

I was so scared of what could have caused it so I stopped taking all medicine, having sex, even gave up the heartburn meds in hope that i would go way.

And a week later it was gone. When i asked how it could just “Go Away” and fix itself, The doctor told me that it is fairly common and often does fix itself, But usually they see it in patients that have a High Caffeine intake. And when I did some research on it I found Other women who had gone through the same thing!!!

I was lucky enough to have mine miraculously fix itself but If i could have been warned exactly what the caffeine could do, I would have never drank that much.

Sorry Seattle, but you guys dropped the ball on this one. You it up until it got to a point of being a very serious issue, and then you acted like you cared. Sorry to the loyal fans, but I guess you guys should be more careful when selecting your legislators from now on. They obviously care about which seems crazy, but true, and been that way for a long time now. This almost happened with the Seahawks and Mariners as well. Wake up and smell the latte Seattle!

do it anymore. Yes, constant blows to the stomach can harm your baby or cause a miscarriage. Just try to stand back from now on or ask your employer if there is something you can do that does not involve harming your child. sure there are OSHA regulations for that. If you do have problems with your baby/pregnancy b/c of this, your work will be paying out the nose to you…… Just try to be more careful
