Is the original Starbucks in Seattle worth a visit on vacation?
Question by flight777: Is the original Starbucks in Seattle worth a visit on vacation?
If so, is there anything different about it than a typical Starbucks? Thanks.

Its just like every other Starbucks that sells coffee and is located downtown at the Pike Place Market. In my opinion, not worth a visit, unless your just looking for bragging rights that you have been there. They sell memorabilia that says “first Starbucks“. Parking downtown is insane and expensive and so is everything else. Navigating through the streets is not something you should attempt if you aren’t familiar with the area. Buses in the area are generally free (yellow zone) so I recommended that or walking. If your staying by the airport you can take the light rail into downtown ($ 2.50 one way). Get off on the last stop (Westlake Center). From there you can walk or ride a free bus to all the tourist attractions in downtown and take a monorail to the Space Needle and Seattle Center.
Have fun

I don’t think there’s anything special about this Starbucks. people mainly visit it because it has a long history. also it’s at Pike market, a place that’s worth going ..
This is a small, almost nondescript Starbucks store at Pike Place Market. It’s a worthwhile walk by (and takeout cup of coffee) if you are planning to visit Pike Place Market, but I wouldn’t make a special stop just for the Starbucks store.
There are no seats available. There is usually a street performer outside on the sidewalk. Parking is awful in that area. But there is lots else to wander around and look at in the immediate vicinity if you plan to go.
The “original” Starbucks in Seattle is not truly THE original Starbucks since the store moved from its first location about 5 years after it first opened. The shop that is currently referred to as the original Starbucks is still at the Pike Place Market and has been kept with pretty much the same appearance as when it opened – not nearly as glitzy as the current typical Starbucks.
So I guess to answer your question, the Pike Place Market is definitely worth visiting if you are in Seattle and since the Starbuck’s is right there, why not check it out? Here is a link with more information about the Pike Place Market including the original Starbucks:

Think it’s about time I moved on up
Sure, I have seen like these before. I think it would be an interesting vacation. Of course, it would only attract types of people. Like, for instance, I love to cook and really enjoy it and enjoy learning more. My friend, on the other hand, like to cook. But, as the other answer said, I like to get away from these type things when on vacation, so it really be a vacation. To me, it would be more of a learning getaway
But yes, I would definitely consider doing it.
