Starbucks? Why has Starbucks increased their prices?

Why has Starbucks increased their prices? I mean I love Starbucks, but they’re gradually becoming more expensive. I don’t understand… Their business is obviously successful since there are Starbucks in many parts of the world so why the need to increase prices? I just went to Starbucks today after a long time and paid $4 for a grande Pumpkin Spice Latte whereas before I only paid like around $3. They have already increased their prices twice in my area. Seems like they’re becoming greedy. Some please enlighten me?
Simplegal: I don’t go to fastfood restaurants so where does that come from and I don’t have to deal with it because I won’t go to Starbucks anymore since they’re prices are ridiculous. And to those of you who said I’ve answered my own question didn’t understand my question. My question is why are they increasing their prices if they’re so successful? Why not just keep the prices low since they already have so many customers? I mean they can lose customers if they continue increasing their prices so I don’t see how it’ll benefit them.
la la: This is NOT the first increase in prices, this is the second increase in my area. And of course you wouldn’t think they’re greedy since you obviously work for them! I’m sure you’re getting paid really well so obviously money talks. Apparently some of you do not read questions thoroughly.

You pretty much answered yourself…their buisness is obviously successful…they can change the price and know that people will still go there.

Starbucks prices are ridiculous to me, so I refuse to go. If I want hot chocolate, I’ll make it myself and add my own whipped cream and cinnamon! lol

Either the price they pay for the coffee grounds to be made, has gone up, for them. Or theirs more demand than supply. I love that pumpkin latte. Have you tried the Pumpkin Spice Steamer? It’s just as good, and some what cheaper. I don’t know if the price increase is all over, or just where you are. But where I am, there’s a Starbuck’s on almost every corner. How many are there?

its a rip off, i wont ever go there on my own! the only reason i might get something from there is because i work at a hotel by an airport that happens to have a Starbucks in the lobby and sometimes they hook us up for free theyll just send some over to the front office, other than that NO THANKS! anyways the amount of calories on the drinks are ridiculous!

You really answered your own question!

Since you love it (and millions do) of coarse they are gonna raise prices….When demand is strong prices rise—its basic economics—sure sometimes some people are out-priced by the increases-but overall its smart business-because the extra $$ will cover any lost patronage!

They’ll increase it until people stop buying it period. As long as they can take more money from consumers they’ll raise the price even if it gets to ten bucks or more. Their only there to make money.

    One word for Starbucks—– Ludicrous
Each and every person that patronizes the place
ought to have to wear a sign that says– I am a designer dork !!!

They charge what they charge because they can
and the people that go there do so because they think it’s cool
And, it seems to be the exact same crowd that gets a thrill out of over paying for everything they buy from cars to jeans !!!
Kinda like a— I HAVE MORE DOLLARS THAN SENSE thing !!!!

Starbucks increased their beverage prices by one nickel. Period and it was the first price change in 2 years. Compared with the way that other prices on things have increased, five cents isn’t too much of an increase for a pumpkin spice latte. And it may be a luxury, but still one that people can afford and treat themselves to, especially when people can’t afford to go out and buy a new car or flat screen. So I say, drop your four bucks on a little piece of heaven when you feel like it. You can’t put a price on the experience.

Their prices have increased everywhere (most recently 5 cents). They know people would go buy their freaking coffee no matter what because it’s their money, they can spend on whatever they want, right? Starbucks is obviously a smart company…i mean hell if i was the CEO, i would increase the prices and make more money. By the way, Starbucks is getting overrated. Teens are freaking brainwashed by them. They think drinking Starbucks is “very cool.” BLAAHHERFGRJGK

Well the fact that the local Starbucks is 3 hours away from me, I wouldn’t ever go there. I tried my first Godiva French Vanilla Latte the other day and about puked. Ugh..I don’t see how anybody can drink coffee or Capp. Plus, they will mess your teeth up. Don’t buy it.

i work at a Starbucks in california and prices at Starbucks went up 5 cents. This is the first price increase in a couple years. They aren’t being greedy because they just gave all of their employees raises for all the hard work that they do. Prices on everything is gradually going up, and the price of coffee is no different.

is just how much Canadian history hides from their children? Have you even heard of the Canadian Holocaust? I mean, damn, the U.S. gets a bad rep for having slavery, but Mexico and Canada have just as much racism as the states and that’s a fact. You people just wanna think that you are perfect and that everyone likes you, when in reality, the reason people “like” Canada is because they know nothing about you. I mean really, 50,000 indigenous people murdered at the

Ever heard of burrow upgrade moron? Calling Toss op when zerg can expand over half the map in 5 minutes with their ridiculously cheap units and infrastructure. Then have the nerve bitching about warp prism when zerg both got nydus worm and overlord speed drops. If anything, most pro tournaments lately indicates that toss actually are struggling and actually needs to be improved in some way.
