WHY am I not even getting a callback for an interview at Starbucks?

Question by Rachel: WHY am I not even getting a callback for an interview at Starbucks?
We’ll I’m 20 years old and I’ve applied at Starbucks about 3 times in the last few months. I have worked at two previous coffee shops, not associated with Starbucks, so I have experience in the coffee business, and I have put this on my appications. I’m currently in college and in an honor program for my grades. Yet I have not once even received a callback to go in for an interview. What is going on?

Same reason I can’t get a nursing job and I’ve been in health care for 15 years and an RN for 7. The economy is in the toilet. I’ve noticed a lot of jobs are posted but they are not hiring. Try finding who the manager is and calling them directly and talk to them. Maybe you will get some information that way.

    1st “mistake” is waiting for them to call you back – too many people do this, while the “hungry” job seeker will wait 4 days after applying, then contact the potential employer to remind them of your strong interest in the position. 2nd, there are way too many folks out of work (in the millions, from teens to those in their 70′s) and not enough openings; therefore, the job seeker needs to really work at getting the opening, unlike in better days when a person could apply (and do so in person – what a concept !!) and have a good possibility of being hired…I miss the old days :{

    Dress one step above the position you are applying for.

    At a hiring fair you need to stand out from the competition. A casual interview means "business casual, which would mean no jeans, etc. Dress up a bit – dress pants or dress shoes, blouse or dress Good hygeine. Look act professional.

    Good luck!

    CALLBACK simply means calling back the last phone number from which you missed a call.

    Wow you are bitter. All your questions are nonsense about JWs. If your so happy not to be one anymore, think find a better way to spend your time, instead of wasting it trying to degrade them all the time.
